About Ariane

Ariane Price is an actor, writer, creator, and teacher in Hollywood.

She has worked in independent and mainstream films and has appeared in commercials and television shows like Modern Family, Lost, Parenthood, and more. You can hear her singing about having a “soul douche” (don’t we all need one?) in the movie “Barb and Star go to Vista Del Mar” written and starring her colleagues Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo.

As a creator and writer Ariane has had a number of development deals with major studios for her original works and her new podcast Multiple Talking Women is unlike anything you’ve heard in the absolute best way. Ariane has also had an extensive animation voiceover career on shows like Looney Tunes. Ariane and Annie Mumolo have an animated show they created that is currently in development with two top animation houses. (Read the Deadline article here.)

Ariane is most widely known, however, for her live theater work. She is an alumni of the renowned Groundlings Theater where she continues to perform and teach sketch comedy and improv on a weekly basis. Fellow Groundlings Alum include Melissa Mc Carthy, Will Ferrell, Maya Rudolph, Jennifer Coolidge and the aforementioned colleagues Annie Mumolo and Kristen Wiig who co-wrote Bridesmaids.

Ariane believes there is magic in being part of a completely improvised show, created on the spot, and has been reviewed for her performances in The Los Angeles Times and Broadway World. As for her written work at the Groundlings, Ariane has written and performed acclaimed sketch comedy and monologues for thousands and thousands of people. (Fun Fact: Stephen Hawking once attended her show and “spoke” his words of admiration to the cast using his speaking device.)

Ariane’s two Solo Shows, “Dead Moms Don’t Hug” and “Archetypical Woman” were sold out and had rave reviews, Modern Family’s Eric Stonestreet called both hilarious and heartbreaking at the same time.” Jack Black called it a “must see.” Ariane loves song improv and recently improvised a song with Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam, playing as her back up.

Ariane, as a teacher and coach, sees Improv as a dynamic tool that is a powerful means of transformation for businesses, creative endeavors, and unlocking trapped potentials in anyone. Improv can help you develop authenticity, presence, and agility, as well as adopting the “YES, AND” philosophy improv is based on.

Ariane has taught at the Groundlings Theater for over 20 years and has been interviewed on her teaching style and philosophy by CBS This Morning and Ovation Arts Television. Through improv, Ariane has taught productivity, collaboration, communication, and marketable confidence to companies such as Yoplait, Nike, Apple, Facebook, and more. She worked with the television cast of “The Doctors” to help them sound natural and field unexpected questions smoothly, with the UCLA Sports Psychologist for their men's and women’s UCLA Water Polo Teams and a Japanese all-tween pop group for public speaking.

She most recently taught improvisation skills to a group of engineers from Google, for whom English was a second language. At the end, one student said “I have to admit when I heard we were doing improv it sounded worse than a root canal, but I actually had a great time!”  When businesses and groups are able to laugh together and work together as a TEAM in improv workshops, they build trust, equity, and collaboration skills that lead directly to success in their workplaces and frankly, all areas of their lives.

Fun Fact: Ariane worked with Kim Kardashian and Scott Disick on an episode of “The Kardashians” ahead of a speaking engagement they had. Kim noted that she could see how improv could help her let go of “Being such a perfectionist at the cost of creativity.”

Ariane has worked with the “Motherless Daughter” community around the theory that humor and improv can help with the grieving process. She has worked with children who were victims of bullying and one-on-one with adults who are victims of their negative self-judgment.  For more info on how improv can positively change the brain.

Ariane has been a student herself at the San Diego Rep, Webber Douglass Academy in London, and The Royal Shakespeare Company, Stratford. She has a BA in Film Theory and Analysis with a minor in Philosophy from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
